Episcopal Outreach Foundation
Since the mid 1980's, the diocese has held in trust monies gathered from a percentage of funds collected to build the Duncan M. Gray Camp and Conference Center as well as contributions from individuals and congregations made to the diocese's outreach and mission programs. A percentage of the investment return from these funds is available to congregations looking for seed money for congregational outreach and mission.
A congregation can apply for these seed monies by submitting an application to The Rev. Carol Borne Stewart, Assistant to the Bishop for Outreach and Community Development. The application must be brief and must answer the following questions:
1. Is an Episcopal Church involved?
2. Is this an ecumenical or inter-faith effort? If so, explain.
3. Will any spiritual or religious focus be brought to the project so that the workers and the recipient(s) of the effort can see the reason for your church's involvement? Please explain.
4. Is there a written plan for the future continuation of this project?
5. Is this request for seed money? If yes, what other support do you foresee for the present and the future?
6. What assurances have you obtained that additional resources are available for the project?
7. What group of individuals will be responsible for the project administration?
8. Briefly explain your vision for the future development of the project.
9. How much money are you requesting? What is your projected budget (income and expenses) for the coming year?
10. Is here any opportunity for unchurched workers or recipients to become affiliated with your church or another church participating in this project?
Please send to The Rev. Carol Stewart, P.O. Box 23107, Jackson, MS 39225
